  • What Should I Eat for Clear Acne Free Skin? Acne Free Diet?

Posted on January 29th, 2010 admin 6 comments

Hi Ray. Thanks a lot for sharing all your knowledge to help those of us who suffer from acne. I have severe cystic acne for the past 15 years (face, neck, back, shoulder). I’ve read every articles and try to follow eating the right diet and taking the necessary supplements. After 3 months of following your advice, I have noticed that I got much lesser new acne. My question is: 1) Since I start eating the right diet, I am always hungry all the time. Eating vegetables and eating only meat does not make me full at all, because I used to eat carb so much ( lots of rice and bread ). Do you have any tips on how to keep yourself from being hungry all the time and still eating the right diet? 2) I notice that there are several diet that should be followed. In your opinion, which one should I follow: a) Low glycemic diet b) Alkaline diet c) Anti Inflammatory Diet 3) You recommend so many vitamin, oils, enzymes and supplements. I want to clear my acne, but at the same time, I don’t want to spend way too much money every month. Can you rank from the most important to the least important, so I can prioritize. 4) I know that fast food is really bad for you, but I don’t cook, so I always buy food outside everyday. Can you give some suggestions on which food at popular fast food restaurants that won’t cause breakouts? Which food at Subway, mcdonald’s and Yoshinoya that you recommend the most? 5) Which meat ( red meat or white meat ) is healthier and the one you recommend? I heard that chicken and turkey has much less fat than red meat ( beef and pork ) but they contain much more arachidonic acid, so white meat is much more inflammatory. Once again, thank you so much for everything. Your website really help many people’s life.

  • Natural Acne Remedies – Why Should They be our First Choice

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 admin No comments

Many products contain something called Benzoyl peroxide which was first developed and used in the 1920′s. Benzoyl peroxide has shown in research to cause dryness and irritation although this does not normally show until after about a week. Some people may have a more severe reaction.and can suffer from burning, itching, and possible swelling. this does not seem appropriate as we are trying to clear the skin, not inflame it.

Benzoyl Peroxide has been shown to suppress the immune system which is defeating one of the main elements of curing acne, which is to boost the immune system so that our body is able to fight the bacteria present and The national library of medicine has shown that after animal studies were conducted it was believed that it could increase carcinogenesis.

Glycolic acid is another ingredient which can be found in acne treatments often used in skin peel is known to be as strong irritant. The top layer of skin is not the problem, the bacteria actually inside the pores is, so peeling will not eliminate the basic problem causing acne. After using peeling products the skin is often extremely red, rather like a severe case of sunburn.

Other potentially dangerous chemicals include, Sodium Hyaluronate and salicylic acid

Did you know that cosmetic companies producing skin care remedies including acne products ingredients are not subject to premarket approval authority by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) with the exception of color additives and a few prohibited substances. Although the FDA state that they may pursue enforcement action against violative products or against firms or individuals who violate the law. So in plain english, they will intervene if there is an issue, but this is not much help if you have been using the product for some time before any problems arise.

These products should never be used by pregnant women.

The aim of this article is not to scare you but to make you aware that you do not have to subject yourselves to these risks, no matter how small when there are many natural acne remedies available on the market. Do not leave yourselves open to these risks. You would not take these chemicals orally, so why would you want to put them on your skin, with the possibility of them entering your bloodstream in another way.

  • What kind of acne medication should I try for mild acne? About how much will this cost?

Posted on December 28th, 2009 admin 5 comments

I have a few big zits here and there, a lot of blackheads on my forehead, on my nose, and a few on my chin, plus my skin gets really red. My friend recently got acne medication and it’s helped her skin so much, she hardly has any pimples at all. However, I’m worried about his cost. About how much would an acne med. cost that would cure the things I listed above?
